Co Terrace will be a community landmark with new programmes introduced and does not replace the existing establishments of Tiong Bahru Market, but instead, it hope to catalyse the formation of a new public image of a market and a new extension of community space for locals and non-locals to participate in community activities.
The rise of new establishments and cafes that resulted in a loss of community identity of the estate. These new establishments around Tiong Bahru Market act as community interaction spots, resulting in the estate’s reputation and liveliness being dependent on the cafes itself.



Process
This design proposal aims to redefine our local market make long-term care a part of daily life for the community and encourage existing and new hawker centre market to have more extension of programmes for future generations. This ensures the market will be an urban threshold of activities in the heart of the Tiong Bahru estate.
